Dr. Mosca earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating from there in 1978. He followed this with an orthopedic residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Before entering his academic practice, Dr. Mosca also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Mosca is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is an expert in foot deformities in children and adolescents. He has been an invited guest speaker and visiting professor in 26 countries (a total of 54 times) and in over 100 medical centers and conferences in the United States. He has had 36 research articles published in leading orthopedic medical journals and has written 29 book chapters. His recently published book on foot deformities in children has become an instant classic. Dr. Mosca is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the International Pediatric Orthopedic Think Tank. He says that the secret of his success is his focus on clinical research and teaching, in addition to excellence in patient care.
