Following his graduation in 2006, he served his general surgery residency at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned the coveted title as chief resident. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and stays up to date on the latest developments in his field through his professional membership with the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. In addition, he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Gerth is a published author with research interests in robotic surgery. He makes a difference in the lives of his patients by listening to patients and treating each of them according to their individual needs. He feels that he owes his success to his faith, family support, a passion for the medical field, and making a difference.
