Phoenix, Arizona – The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Urszula H. Kotlow, MD, Psychiatrist, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Kotlow is the Medical Director for the Arizona’s Children Association in Phoenix, AZ and has 18 years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient outpatient psychiatry.
Educated at Middlebury College and Duke University, Dr. Kotlow completed additional training at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, before completing a pediatric internship at Brown University. She then completed a General Psychiatry residency at Yale University and completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and has been an active member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Phoenix Chapter, and was president of the statewide Arizona Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Chapter. Dr. Kotlow has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including an Achievement Medal for Outstanding Service and an Outstanding Unit Citation award during her active duty as a United States Public Health Service officer providing mental health services in the Indian Health Service for the White Mountain Apache and Hopi Reservations during the Rodeo-Chediski Fire. Dr. Kotlow worked with attorney George Hesse to create a new law for the White Mountain Apache Reservation so that tribal members who are who are posing a danger to self and others or who are gravely disabled could be petitioned for an involuntary commitment so as to ensure public safety on the reservation.
Dr. Kotlow attributes her success to her passion for people, her strong commitment to mental health, and her drive to make a difference in others’ lives. When not assisting patients, she enjoys scuba diving, traveling, photography, and swimming.
