He is a highly-trained and qualified oncologist with a vast expertise inall facets of his work, including cancer immunotherapy, chemotherapy, biological cancer treatments, other non-chemotherapy cancer treatments and diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders. Dr. Shunyakov has been practicing for over ten years and is currently serving at Central Cancer Care Center in Bolivar and Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Shunyakov attended Urals State Medical Academy in Ekaterinburg, Russia and was awarded his medical degree in 1996. Upon relocating to the United States, he served his residencies at Rochester General Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, New York, and completed his fellowship training at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, New York. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Medical Hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Shunyakov stays active in his field through his memberships with the American Medical Association, the Missouri Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
A lecturer at Missouri State University on subjects of Hematology and Oncology as well, Dr. Shunyakov credits his success to providing the best care for his patients and maintaining a respectful and cordial relationship with co-workers. He dedicates his spare time to further advancing his knowledge in immunology and targeted cancer therapies.
Dr. Shunyakov is an author of several publications on the role of immunotherapy and individualized targeted therapies.
