SANTA CLARA, CA – 02 Dec, 2016 – The largest Korean Global Pitch event held at Levi’s Stadium on November 3, 2016 was a success bringing together 25 prominent Korean startups, that took center stage to compete, pitch and debut their company to Silicon Valley.
The event began with a keynote from the President of KIC (Korea Innovation Center) Silicon Valley, Mr. Heon Soo Rhee, followed by congratulatory remarks by Mr. Jae Yoo Choi, Vice Minister of MSIP (Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning). A 8-minute Q&A session followed the main competition in a room full of close to 500 attendees ranging from VCs/ CVCs, entrepreneurs, industry thought leaders, marketing, legal professionals and more.
The pitch competition resulted in 3 winners respectively BLH Aqua Technology (1st Prize), KTB Solution (2nd Prize) and lastly zConverter (3rd Prize). Following the highly anticipated competition, the program agenda continued with an exclusive fireside chat discussing “How To Build Or Run A Successful Startup In Silicon Valley”, awards ceremony, followed by lunch and networking.
The winners this year’s pitch competition are granted the chance to join the K-Express Program sponsored by KIC Silicon Valley. The K-Express Program aids all Korean entrepreneurs and small business owners to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and fundamentals to assure a spot in the US market. The purpose of the program is to provide tools for all startup businesses to eventually thrive in the international market.
Overall, the K-Global Startup Pitch Event provided a new perspective for the participating startup companies in relation to exposure and enhancement in Silicon Valley, and an rewarding professional and business opportunity for all attendees.
