Garage Gym Life Magazine: The WHY Project Documentary now on YouTube

Garage Gym Life announces “The WHY Project”, a five episode documentary that chronicles the stories of five home gym owners, each with a different exercise focus, who are passionate about exercising in their home gyms but who never intend to compete in an organized sporting event.

The home gym market represents a significant segment of the fitness population. Increasing numbers of people are opting out of commercial gym memberships in favor of training in the comfort of their garages, spare bedrooms, attics, barns and basements, driveways and living rooms. Some are training for competition, or a specific event, but many others remain dedicated to their workout programs year in and year out without aspiring to grace the competitive platform.

The five episodes, averaging 15 minutes in length, unpack the inspiring stories of a powerlifter who can squat and deadlift in excess of 600lbs, two certified CrossFit trainers, a lifelong yogi and martial artist and a family man who trains for general fitness. These three women and two men have redefined what it means to be an athlete even as they pursue goals other than competitive stardom.

The series is slated to premiere in July 2018.

Reviews:

“What a great video about a real-life person with a real-life family, who is able to get in an excellent training program scheduled around his obligations.” – Jeff “T Rex” Bankens, Performing Strongman

“So motivating! Love my home gym too, well worth the investment!” – Anna Woods, women’s empowerment coach, founder, sheStrength Online Fitness Community

“I love this for so many reasons! Cody’s honesty with his journey – weightlifting as a vehicle for physical healing (to real ailments, strength heals weakness when training safely and properly), home gym to free up time to be with his family, understanding that a home gym is not always “cheaper” than a commercial gym, the privilege of creating your environment, the importance of saving for quality equipment while shopping for a deal (knowing what you are paying for). I’m excited to watch more of the WHY Project Episodes. There is so much power in sharing others stories, it reminds us that we are not alone. THANK YOU for everything you do!” – Christina Jogoleff, diet coach, home gym owner

“Great video! Saved this one to watch whenever I need a little more motivation.” – Matt Brown, Highland Games athlete, obstacle course racer

“Re-finding your desire and passion (your Why) on a regular basis is essential for continuous growth and development.” – Randy M. Olson, nutrition coach, founder Fat 2 Flat

“I work in sports med and am one of those people that become very invested in others and find it easy to put my own needs on the back burner. My baby girls are my why. I must be strong for them. That made building my own garage gym and pushing myself hard my investment in them. I hope they will expect the same of the man they may marry some day. I am glad you have built your home gym and have continued to invest in your health for your family.” – David Albers, founder, The Durable Dad
