Germany, Italy, Denmark, and the Netherlands were the main suppliers of aluminum tubes and fittings among the EU members in value terms, with a combined share of 58% of total exports in 2015. From 2007 to 2015, the Netherlands (+4.7% per year) and Germany (+1.8% per year) were the fastest growing suppliers among the leaders. Moreover, these countries strengthened their positions in the European export structure, while the other leaders saw their shares reduced.
Aluminum tubes and fittings trade remains intensive within the European countries. Meanwhile, about 28% of the total exports were sent outside the EU in 2015. The extra-EU exports reached 270 million EUR that year, rising gradually over recent years.
EU aluminum tubes and fittings manufacturing expands supplies to foreign markets. The share of extra-EU exports in the total output amounted to about 30% in 2015. The U.S., Turkey, and Japan were the main foreign markets over the last years. The volume of deliveries to these countries has traditionally accounted for over 30-40% of extra-EU exports. It is also worth noting that shipments to Japan have multiplied over the past 10 years, which allowed Japan to become one of the top-3 leading countries in terms of extra-EU exports of aluminum tubes and fittings.
