He is a highly-trained and qualified radiation oncologist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work, including radiosurgery with the CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System. Dr. Dickerson has been practicing for over thirty years and is currently serving patients as Chief of Radiosurgery and Medical Director at Anova Cancer Care in Lone Tree, Colorado. Anova Cancer Care is an independent, full-time radiation therapy center dedicated to treating patients with benign and malignant tumors using the CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System. Furthermore, Dr. Dickerson holds hospital privileges at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, Swedish Hospital and Medical Center, and Sky Ridge Medical Center. Dr. Dickerson is also a Professor of Clinical Medicine at Rocky Vista University School of Medicine.
Dr. Dickerson attended the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated with his doctor of medicine degree in 1984. He then went to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s Bodine Center for Cancer Treatment where he completed his residency in radiation oncology as well as his fellowship as Fellow of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Dickerson served his final year as chief resident. He also attained the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Radiology and Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology. Prior to medical school, he completed his bachelor degree of arts in chemistry and biology at Indiana University. Over the years, he was honored with multiple recognitions and awards, including being named one of America’s Top Oncologists (2012) and one of The Best Doctors in America (1995) Additionally, he was selected among the Castle Connolly Top Doctors (2006-2015) and the U.S. News & World Report Top Doctors (2012-2015).
Board certified in radiation oncology, he served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force/Air National Guard for almost 10 years and reached the rank of major. Dr. Dickerson maintains active memberships with the Radiosurgery Society, the American College of Radiology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the Colorado Radiological Society, the CyberKnife Coalition Board of Directors, and the Registry for Prostate Cancer Radiosurgery Board of Directors. Dr. Dickerson credits his success to taking care of patients, accepting change gracefully, and embracing new technology. When he is not working, he dedicates to mountain biking, walking his dog, hiking, fly fishing and spending time in the mountains with his family.
