Director of “USB” (Sci-Fi Short Film) launches fundraiser for taking it to the England film festivals

“USB” is the new sci-fi short film directed by Santiago Proaño that is based on the concept or possibility of connecting with another person using a USB port attached to their wrists. Santiago’s film is finished and he has now launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to take it to film festivals in England. He has written this story thinking of the human ability to connect with other people and how technology can impact this process. His film shows if humans could connect with each other using USB ports, how two people can get lost in each other’s thoughts, how it will affect the relationships and how far it will push them to change and evolve.

USB is an interesting take on human emotions and relationships in the times of advancing technology. The film takes the viewer into a journey beyond imagination and explores a place with infinite possibilities. It is a unique short film, set in the future world, where technology has taken over the human emotions and how two people connect. The audiences will discover several hidden meanings in the short film that will challenge their perspectives and imaginations.

Santiago is a final year student of filmmaking in Ecuador aims to take this film to film festivals in November which is why he has started the fundraiser on Indiegogo to raise $4000 for covering the expenses of the production expenses as well as the trip. He just got accepted to Crossing The Screen Film Festival in Eastbourne England. It’s his biggest dream to showcase his film in an international film festival which would also prove as the first groundbreaking step in his filmmaking career.

The success of the campaign will ensure that he is able to cover the expenses of festival submission, actors, catering, color grading, camera equipment, and majorly the festival ticket. He has built this movie project with the support of other young filmmakers yet due to budget constraints he still needs to pay some of the before mentioned fees. The amount raised from the fundraiser will also cover his traveling cost from Ecuador to England.

Santiago is also offering a chance to the backers to watch his film. By contributing for $5 or more, the backers will get a private link for them to watch the short film exclusively. He is also offering them exclusive material and cool extras to enjoy as a thank you gesture for making his dream come true.
