“Apart” – a woman’s perspective on the human experience

May 17, 2017 – Jennifer Jennings of Waterford Works, New Jersey is seeking $1,286 in a pledge drive through Kickstarter.com to launch her new book project by June 2. The book, called “Apart” is in the women’s fiction genre and has gleaned $403 from 11 backers with 24 days to go.

“I never planned on writing a book,” according to Jennings. “But when a writer friend inspired me to expand on a bit of fiction I had bouncing around in my head, the characters came to life and dictated their story.”

This is an all or nothing project, which means it will only be funded if the entire goal amount is reached by the deadline.

“I anticipate very few challenges,” Jennings stated. “As far as completion is concerned, there are no risks – the novel is done. However, the devil is in the details, so proofreading, obtaining the ISBN numbers for softcover and E-book formats, copyright registration, and the book barcodes will take some time.”

There are 5 pledge levels plus rewards worth between $5 to $25. Rewards include digital and printed copies of the book, custom inscription in your book, and more. Jennings said she tentatively expects deliveries to begin in July 2017.

“Where the actual printing of the book is concerned, the digital printer I plan to use has a 10 to15 day turnaround once the manuscript is formatted and the proof is approved,” she said, “so there should be no issues and the pledge deliverable(s) will be out the door within a few weeks of them being delivered to me.”

Jennifer is a licensed massage therapist and a certified hypnotherapist. Through this story, she explores her passion for the human experience on a deeper level, using the written word. “My interest in the mysterious synergistic connection between our minds and bodies has fueled my quest for knowledge for over 30 years, and I finally decided to explore those ideas using the literary vehicle of fiction.”

“I’m a fan of literature, and I like the real, tangible feeling of an actual, physical book,” Jennings stated. “And although digital printing has made it much easier to get a book printed, it still costs some coin.  I think I’ve written a pretty good book.”

Kickstarter.com has been an online platform since 2009 that helped people promote and raise starting capital for their creative ideas.
