BERKELEY, CA – 11 Aug, 2017 – AnZa, an espresso machine that cuts a striking profile in concrete or Corian, is now available for purchase via Kickstarter. In just five hours the team reached 50% of their funding goal. Not only that, but the Kickstarter team also featured AnZa among their “products we love section”. By backing the project, members of the public can take home the AnZa, which uses materials seldom found in kitchen appliances. The result is an espresso machine that brings life to any kitchen, and an unparalleled conversation piece.
The coffee world has undergone rapid change over the past few decades. In spite of industry innovations, little change has occurred around the aesthetics of espresso machines. The Montaag Products team, composed of designers who have worked on a variety of products for both Fortune 500 clients and early-stage startups, sought out another option. The result is the AnZa espresso machine, produced in two variations: one, brutalist concrete, and the other, an elegant white Corian.
“When we began this project, it was a creative endeavor to explore what an espresso machine could feel like through the use of completely honest materials” says Andrew Smith, Designer at Montaag Products LLC. “But after the positive feedback, we have been working towards scaled production. We are thrilled that, through the Kickstarter campaign, coffee and design aficionados can bring the AnZa to their own kitchen countertop.”
The team releases the new production machines after four years of testing and refinement, ensuring that the machine is both beautiful and functional, delivering high-quality performance with every shot of espresso. The new AnZa machines offers more than a strong cup of coffee and distinctive profile. The concrete and Corian models will be equipped with connectivity, giving users remote access, IoT integration, and the ability to program machines to fuel espresso habits.
