Neil H. Smith studied Estate Management at the University of London and worked for Grosvenor in England and Western Canada before joining a small Grosvenor team formed to lead Mobil’s diversification into the development of “New Communities.”<\/p>\n

He later became responsible for Redwood Shores in California, located on the edge of San Francisco Bay. The experience strengthened his understanding of environmental concerns and the need to balance growth with conservation.<\/p>\n

His work with the Olayan Group encouraged him to look beyond individual buildings and consider the quality of their wider settings and surroundings. This approach led to the formation of Rockwood, where he served as founding Chairman.<\/p>\n

His career in development, investment, and environmental planning ultimately shaped his interest in the future health of cities in an increasingly dense world.<\/p>\n
