Pendragon Pictures is set to release Timothy Hines’ The Wilde Girls, a wilderness survival comedy about the “original Karens” facing a harsh reality check in the wild. Hitting theaters March 28th, 2025, the film plans to be distributed by Universal Pictures, continuing their partnership from successful films 10 Days In A Madhouse and Tomorrow\u2019s Today. AMC Theaters will also be involved, with producer Susan Goforth calling AMC one of the most innovative cinema chains in today’s changing market.<\/div>\n

Timothy Hines, known for his daring blend of drama and history, has completed production on The Wilde Girls<\/em>, a Depression-era survival comedy set in the pre-electrified Pacific Northwest. Filmed on location in Washington State, the film follows two pampered New York socialite teens thrust into the wild after losing their fortune in 1932.<\/p>\n

Pendragon Pictures’ current plan is to distribute The Wilde Girls<\/em> through Universal Pictures. Universaldistributed Pendragon’s last two films, 10 Days In A Madhouse<\/em> and Tomorrow’s Today<\/em>, and has great distribution in these changing precarious times. The film is also planned to be released through AMC Theatres March 28th, a collaboration that has proven successful in the past.<\/p>\n

As a young man, Hines collected hundreds of hours of stories from survivors of the 1930s Depression, a period that has long fascinated the filmmaker. “I always intended to shape those incredible stories into a movie,” says Hines, who is best known for directing Tomorrow’s Today<\/em> and 10 Days in a Madhouse<\/em>. “Then one day, after seeing videos of entitled women dubbed ‘Karens,’ it sparked this idea: what if women like that were thrust into a real survival situation? How would they adapt? That’s when The Wilde Girls<\/em> really took shape. Tinsley and Mattie are the original ‘Karens’; clueless, demanding, and hilariously out of their element.”<\/p>\n
