Tracey Birdsall produces and stars in Rogue Warrior : Robot Fighter<\/div>\n

The teaser trailer for a new science-fiction movie described as “Star Wars meets Mad Max” has been released.<\/p>\n

Director Neil Johnson’s ”Rogue Warrior : Robot Fighter” fixes on the overthrow of humanity by Artificial Intelligence and the determined rebel (Tracey Birdsall) who goes up against the droid empire.<\/p>\n

<\/span> ”The movie is set in the distant future where artificial intelligence is taking over multiple worlds”, Birdsall said in a recent interview. “Sienna lives on <\/span>E<\/span>arth and has a real prejudice against robots and is determined to bring down the A.I. Scourge that is trying to dominate mankind. She also has quite an attitude, some self-realizations to come to, and her character journey is intense.” <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A lot of the film was set on the same terrain as “Star Wars” classic “Return of the Jedi” but for the actors, it felt more like “Mars”.

“There were moments when I looked out at the horizon and there was nothing but sand and desolation”, said Birdsall. “Although I could see the crew in the distance and the helicopter loomed overhead, I felt like I was on Mars, or <\/span>some other planet<\/span>.  When you are this isolated doing a film (especially where I was the only actor<\/span> a couple of hundred feet up on a dune<\/span>), it already puts you where you need to be – you’re hot, alone, the wind is <\/span>howling<\/span> and filling your every orifice and pore<\/span> – when you’re miserable and exhausted it’s easy to be miserable and exhausted (oh, I forgot, insert explosion…)<\/span>. Director Neil Johnson expressed over and over his frustration with <\/span>the entirety of the<\/span> green screen <\/span>usage <\/span>in his <\/span>two<\/span> <\/span>previous films, <\/span>“<\/span>Starship: Apocalypse<\/span>”<\/span> and <\/span>“<\/span>Starship: Rising<\/span>.<\/span>”<\/span> <\/span>This time<\/span> he went <\/span>miles <\/span>to the opposite extreme.  It was an adventure<\/span> for sure!<\/span>  Definitely not for the faint-hearted<\/span>… as I think most actresses don’t have the ability or the balls to go through this self-initiated abuse! It was extreme, to say the least, to do as an independent film. I don’t honestly know another <\/span>d<\/span>irector who could pull it off. That said<\/span>,<\/span> I’m just so proud to be a part of it<\/span> and so proud of the film<\/span>.<\/span> It was all so worth it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Starring alongside Birdsall are William Kircher (”The Hobbit”), Daz Crawford (”Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”), Stephen Manley (”Star Trek III : The Search for Spock”), Tim McGrath (”10 Things I Hate About Life”), Livvy Stubenrauch (”Frozen”),  Aaron Jacques (”Starship : Rising”), Ashley Park (”Terror Tales”) and Marilyn Ghigliotti (”Clerks”).<\/p>\n

A release date is still to be announced for the film, which will be followed by a spin-off series, “The Gods of War”.<\/p>\n
