Ambassador Dario Item announces the appointment of Dr. Marco Garavaglia as Honorary Consul General<\/div>\n

Monaco – April 7, 2022 –<\/strong> Dr. Dario Item, Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to the Principality of Monaco, announces the opening of the first Honorary Consulate General in Monaco.<\/p>\n

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has appointed Dr. Marco Garavaglia as Honorary Consul General to the Principality of Monaco. The seat of the Honorary Consulate General is located at 8, Boulevard des Moulins, 98000 Monaco. The website of the Honorary Consulate General is https:\/\/antiguabarbuda.mc<\/p>\n

Dr. Marco Garavaglia has a degree in Economics and a Master in Business Management achieved at the University of Milan. He has carried out internships at several financial institutions in Italy, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland. In 2015 he was appointed director of one of the oldest asset management companies active in the Principality of Monaco, where he actively serves as asset manager. He is fluent in Italian, English and French. Dr. Marco Garavaglia was appointed Honorary Consul General by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda on November 30, 2020, and received the agrément from H.S.H. Prince Albert II on December 1, 2021. By “Ordonnance Souveraine“ n. 9.019 of January 12, 2022, Dr. Marco Garavaglia was granted official accreditation to perform his official duties in the Principality of Monaco.<\/p>\n

The Principality of Monaco and Antigua and Barbuda established for the first time diplomatic relations in 2018 when the Government of the Twin Islands appointed Dr. Dario Item as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Principality of Monaco and simultaneously requested the agrément to H.S.H. Prince Albert II. Dr. Dario Item was granted the agrément by H.S.H. Prince Albert II on September 4, 2018 and presented his credentials on February 28, 2019, becoming the first Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda accredited to the Principality of Monaco.<\/p>\n

With the opening of the Honorary Consulate General, Antigua and Barbuda intends to further strengthen the already excellent diplomatic relations with the Principality of Monaco by ensuring a permanent local delegation in order to actively promote the tourism and attract potential investors to the Caribbean state.<\/p>\n
