Through her book, Of Mothers and Daughters<\/strong>, Arah seeks to spark dialogue on the prevalence of maternal abuse, particularly its prevalence and impact in minority communities, where single mother-led homes constitute over half of all households.<\/p>\n

That mother-daughter dynamic would metastasize over time, spreading into self-doubt, low self-worth, and non-existent personal boundaries. For long, I believed it to be normal, my experience that is.
