When news went out that Yuma’s local charity Helping Hands of Yuma had delivered their last fan from their “Fans for Seniors” drive, <\/span>Ativo Senior Living of Yuma, l<\/span>ocated at <\/span>10565 S Commercial Centre Loop,<\/span> decided to, <\/span>in effect<\/span>, lend a hand by donating their services. The team rallied together to fill their community shuttle with fans, Gatorade, and Ensure<\/span> and personally drove to the charity’s office to deliver the essential items. This donation will allow Helping Hands to continue their focus on serving the senior community with services and support the seniors deserve in order to live independent lives. <\/span>  <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/span>Though we are new to the community, many of our Team Members are native to Yuma, and they know how unbelievably hot it can be in the summer. When we heard that Helping Hands of Yuma no longer had fans to distribute to seniors in need, we wanted to pitch in. Helping seniors, regardless of if they live in our community or not, is the core of what we do on an everyday basis<\/span>,” remarked Deborah Ludington, Administrator.\u202f<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Helping Hands of Yuma<\/span>, a 501<\/span> (C)(<\/span>3)<\/span> <\/span>non-profit charity, <\/span>was founded in 1996 by Lucille Arnold-Harries, when she reco<\/span>gnized the need to provide support services<\/span>,<\/span> such as free, reliable transportation to seniors 60+ living in the Foothills community. <\/span> <\/span>Since their inception, they have served over 650 care clients with dedicated volunteers that have provided over 20,000 service hours, driving over 76,000 miles and completing over 6,000 services. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Ativo Senior Living of Yuma, <\/span>managed by<\/span> Insight Senior Living,<\/span> <\/span>will open late August\/beginning of September with 55 assisted living<\/span> apartments<\/span> and 24 memory care <\/span>beds<\/span>.<\/span>  Floor plans of the assisted living include studio, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments, <\/span>some of which have a full-sized stove and oven, <\/span>while the memory care apartments are a combination of shared living and private rooms. <\/span>Residents of the community will be able to enjoy dinner and a movie in the theater, relax in the morning with coffee while enjoying the mountain views from the<\/span> dining room<\/span>, and staying active while taking the <\/span>s<\/span>urrey bike for a ride with a friend.  Located o<\/span>n four acres, the community<\/span> has Wi-Fi throughout and<\/span> includes several amenity spaces, such as <\/span>a<\/span> <\/span>bistro, <\/span>private dining room, gym, art room, card room, <\/span>billiards room<\/span>, <\/span>business center, 2 salons (one in memory care), pet park, <\/span>and <\/span>a beautiful patio with misters<\/span>.<\/span>  The community is led by Ludington and is one of the few assisted living and memory care communities with a registered nurse to oversee care support. <\/span>  <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
