VehicleHistory.com, a site that provides free information to consumers buying or selling used cars and trucks, announced today that they are launching a service that will let people view the vehicle owner’s manuals online. Consumers will be able to gain instant access to the owner’s manuals of any used car they have purchased.<\/div>\n

“We have always been dedicated to giving people information that will help them through the used car buying process,” said Vanessa Hernandez, a Vehicle History spokeswoman. “One thing we heard from a lot of customers is that they realized after they bought a vehicle that the owner’s manual wasn’t in the glove box. We looked to see if we could provide them, and found that it was a service we could easily offer.”<\/p>\n

Vehicle owner’s manuals contain information that can be helpful to consumers, she said. They outline how to maintain the vehicle, safety factors to take into account, basic repair information and technical information.<\/p>\n

“Someone might want to do their own oil change, for example,” she said. “But the oil pan may be located in an odd place, or the vehicle may require a specific type of oil. All of that information is in the owner’s manual – but that won’t help if the owner don’t have access to it.”<\/p>\n

Vehicle History said it is trying to make it as easy as possible for consumers to get owner’s manuals for the cars they have purchased.<\/p>\n

“All they have to do is go to our Vehicle Owner’s Manuals page,” she said. “They enter the VIN number for their vehicle into the search bar, and a minute or two later the owner’s manual will pop up on their computer or mobile device. Then they can either save it or print out a hard copy to keep handy.”<\/p>\n

There will be no charge for the vehicle owner’s manuals lookup service, she said.<\/p>\n

“This is not something we are doing to make a profit,” she said. “It’s something we are doing because we think it will help consumers. We just want to take all of the hassle out of buying a used car.”<\/p>\n
