Gastric neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), which previously were classified as Gastric Carcinoids, are neoplasms derived from the enterochromaffin-like cells (ECL cells) of the gastric mucosa. They are rare lesions with indolent behavior and neuroendocrine differentiation. Although uncommon, the diagnosis has improved, due to the widespread use of upper digestive endoscopy and the technical refinement of endoscopists.<\/p>\n
