Country music singer\/songwriter Matt Burke’s second single <\/span>Roses<\/span> is proving his skill as a brilliant songwriter. <\/span>Roses <\/span>is the American singer’s latest release about a man trying to paint a pretty picture of their life when, in reality, they are feeling a bit stagnant and stuck. The lyrics are subtle and blend beautifully with a sound reminiscent of the 70’s style of Honky Tonk Country music.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roses<\/span> is Matt Burke’s second single since he moved to Nashville from Central Florida. The singer\/songwriter’s popular Honky Tonk style was evident in his first single but with Roses, Burke showcases his mastery over songwriting as well. Roses may have been released recently but the song was written at a time when Matt first embarked on music as a full-time career. The sense of futility and stagnation in the same city with a feeling of getting nowhere vented out into lyrics that that resulted in <\/span>Roses<\/span>, a sing that is gaining Matt huge popularity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Matt Burke grew up in a small town in Central Florida. Since 2010, he had been writing and releasing music with his full band project – The Matt Burke Band. In 2018, he suffered the loss of childhood friend and the band’s keys player Leona Lewis which hit Matt pretty hard. The pair had grown up together performing in Florida public school band programs since the 6th grade. Ellis’ death marked the end of the Matt Burke Band era and the beginning of a renewed focus on songwriting as a solo artist.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2019, Matt’s popularity as a solo artist prompted him to move to the Mecca of Country Music, Nashville, TN. 2020 started out as a great year for Matt with shows and tour dates lined up through spring but unfortunately, COVID struck and the entertainment industry came to a grinding halt. With the majority of live performances off the table, Burke has spent his time during lockdown writing and recording as much as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
