Lakeside Union School District teachers and faculty are excited to get back to school with safe and effective plans for students. As the Lakeside District returns to learning, it is offering a hybrid learning schedule to all students. Students on the schedule attend in-person classes twice a week and are split up into two groups, A and B. Group A attends classes on Mondays and Tuesdays and Group B attends classes on Thursday and Friday. Students will continue to practice independent learning on days they are not learning in the classroom until the district makes a full-time return to the classroom.<\/p>\n
To ensure student and teacher safety as the district returns to the classroom, Lakeside is committing to completing multiple safety measures including:<\/p>\n
Daily temperature and symptom screening for students and teachers<\/p>\n
Mask requirements for staff and all students <\/p>\n
Providing hand sanitizer at the entry of every classroom<\/p>\n
Handwashing breaks every 60-90 minutes<\/p>\n
Hourly cleaning and sanitizing of high-touch surfaces<\/p>\n
Set student-teacher groups to minimize contact for classes, lunch, and playtimes<\/p>\n
LUSD recognizes that in-person learning may not be the best solution for all families, so to accommodate as many students as possible, the district is also offering alternative options including a distance learning strand and a Home Flex program.<\/p>\n
