Glibertsville, PN, USA – August 10, 2020 – <\/strong>The United States Department of Justice informs us that over 10,000 prisoners are released into our communities across the United States every week of the year.  That was before COVID-19.  Post COVID-19 resulted in the release of many prisoners into our neighborhoods, and this trend is expected to continue.<\/p>\n

Increasing public safety in neighborhoods across the United States is the goal of any responsible person. Many reports indicate that up to two-thirds of those released from incarceration return to prison within three years. The long-term COVID-19 lockdown that prisoners are experiencing nationwide is more restrictive than the lockdown society faces.  Prisoners need hope and practical information now more than ever to be better prepared for reentry.   <\/p>\n

“Get Free and Stay Free” is a new publication series that shares stories of hope and transformation told only by those who were in prison and have become productive, law-abiding citizens. The purpose of these stories is to encourage and empower those who are currently and formerly incarcerated, their stakeholders, and society as a whole.  No one is more uniquely qualified to share these real-world success stories than those who have experienced the overwhelming challenges of reentering back into neighborhoods.  <\/p>\n

Each story is recorded by audio and transcribed into text. Each transcript is free and available to download at www.GetFreeAndStayFree.com<\/a>. Family, friends, and stakeholders are encouraged to send these stories to those incarcerated.  Additionally, the first edition of  “Get Free and Stay Free” paperback book has been published and is available for purchase at Amazon.com or through www.GetFreeAndStayFree.com<\/a>.  The first edition includes the COVID-19+ Transformation Challenge.  The COVID-19+ Transformation Challenge is an all call for stories from those who are incarcerated and who are determined to emerge from COVID-19, a stronger and better person. Transformation stories from imprisoned men and women that have occurred before COVID-19 are welcomed to submit their stories as well.
