Okay Alright is the Bedroom Folk project of independent singer-songwriter Bryce Waitkus. He has made his musical debut with his full-fledged album titled “Everything Lost to the Light” featuring 15 unique songs about love, loss, anxiety, and self-care. The 20-year-old artist writes and records beautiful, vulnerable, and refreshingly personal songs between his bedroom in Chicago and his dorm room on the Central Coast of California. From Lo-Fi rock to spoken word to ambient acoustic to DIY folk, this album is sweeping, unique, and lovably personal. The album is co-produced and recorded by Rick Spataro of “Florist.”

In 2020, Bryce is graduating from Cal Poly SLO with a degree in Psychology and plans to pursue his music career in LA. Through his art, he hopes to create a platform for mental health awareness that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. “There are lots of nuanced emotions that we all feel at some point in our lives, but don’t quite have an exact word for. My goal with this album is to explore and categorize these emotions, so at the end of the day, everyone can feel a little more understood. Through all the songs, I want to tell the listeners; You are worthy of love. It is ok to feel sad. You can, and will, grow from this.”

Inspired by bands like Flatsound, Field Medic and Bright Eyes, Bryce started recording his music from the age of 15. After 3 years of releasing music through his project “Okay Alright”, he has developed enough skills and vision to take a real shot at the music industry. For his debut album, he took his inspiration from a few specific people and events in his life. “This album has been my version of therapy for almost 2 years now. I have poured all of myself into it and I really hope that comes through for the listeners”, states Bryce.
