Inspired by the popularity of mental health apps like Better Help<\/em> and Code Blue<\/em>, Ibrahim Hanif has decided to support an app that will help people with relationship problems.<\/p>\n

“If you niche down from Better Help<\/em>, it’s the logical category to aim for. And god knows there’s a market for it,” says Hanif. Crazy Ideas Fund (CIF) aims to connect investors with a large appetite for risk with ideas that hold great potential for rewards.<\/p>\n

The lab commissioned to research the idea returned with findings that support the investors’ enthusiasm. A majority of the self-help app users seek support related to romantic interests, rejection, cheating, and relationship anxiety.<\/p>\n

“An app marketed as a place to complain about your boyfriend or girlfriend is set to get a word-of-mouth thing going,” Ibrahim speculates. “It will essentially be the same self-help service just to a better-defined audience.”<\/p>\n

By being clearer about the audience, the founders hope to break ground where other apps have failed. They aim to position the self-help app in a way that overcomes the stigma associated with seeking support for mental health and emotional issues.<\/p>\n

“It does not make sense that there is so much pain in the world, due to relationship troubles, and no one is making money off of it,” says Ibrahim Hanif. He has taken a majority stake in the app that will help people anonymously complain about their partners and receive expert advice on their relationship problems.<\/p>\n
