Just Mercy: An Inspiring Tale of Justice with Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx<\/strong><\/p>\n

At its beating heart, “Just Mercy” is a story of what happens when people care. Set in the 1980’s Alabama, a Black man named Walter McMillian (Jamie Foxx) is driving home from work when he is stopped by police, arrested and charged with a murder he didn’t commit. The movie fast-forwards rapidly through McMillian’s sham of a trial, noting that he was put on death row before the trial — a day-and-a-half long — even took place; we next see him nearly two years later in a penitentiary visiting room, waiting for a meeting with a young lawyer (Michael B.
