For so many years, J. Douglas Barry had searched for that part of him which he felt had been missing. Having felt a call to follow Christ at an early age, he had immersed himself in different activities that he believed could help fulfill his duty as a believer of Christ. Following his time in the U.S. Marine Corps, he spent years in the African-American community in Florida where he helped the poor. He had spent years in working with profoundly, mentally challenged adults but despite the fact that he was living a life putting Christ at the center of it, he still did not feel the contentment. He still could not figure out what he was really called for. As part of his many years of searching for the answer, he was led to a life of contemplation and continuous prayer. It was in the year 1993 when life started to work for him and his calling. He had a profound feeling to write about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ – his book Reflections<\/em> is the answer that he had been searching for.<\/p>\n
