Four Orange Unified School District campuses recently achieved Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation. The accreditation will last through June 20, 2022 for the four schools: McPherson Magnet School, Portola Middle School, Santiago Charter Middle School and Yorba Middle School. <\/span><\/p>\n

WASC gives accreditation to K-12 schools and not-for-profit colleges that meet certain criteria and prove to the association that their practices are successful. Accreditation through WASC is a huge achievement for these schools and validates the integrity of the school’s programs, recognizes progress fulfilling their site’s mission and vision, and proves successful student learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Accreditation by WASC helps ensure that schools accredited continue to bring excellence in education on their campus. WASC encourages schools to improve through a process of continued assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reassessment based upon academic performance.<\/span><\/p>\n
