When searching for a good roadside assistance plan, the most advertised ones are not always the best.<\/div>\n

Every driver should own some form of roadside assistance plan. There are numerous plans available in the marketplace but not all providers offer the same type or extent of services.<\/p>\n

Sage, but obvious advice is suggested by Jon Linkov, a Consumer Reports Auto Editor, “First off, we tell consumers to do their research. For example, many insurance companies offer roadside assistance as part of a basic package or as an add on to your coverage.”<\/p>\n

“Some insurance companies view roadside assistance calls as a claim. That could raise your risk status, and, ultimately, your rates.<\/p>\n

“If your spouse or even teenage children drive, look for a plan that covers multiple drivers.”<\/p>\n

Choosing the right plan can be a challenge. Just because one plan is advertised heavily or the company have bricks and mortar locations doesn’t mean they provide the best service and options.<\/p>\n

In fact the high cost of advertising and huge overhead for maintaining mall locations leaves these companies no option but to pass down these expenses to the consumer. Expenses could be passed down through higher rates or to cut back on options that provide less than adequate services.<\/p>\n

One company that doesn’t advertise or maintain high street locations is MCA Motor Club of America.<\/p>\n

Although the name may not be familiar as others in the industry, the company was founded in 1926 as a result of problems with flat tires on the old Model A and T cars.<\/p>\n

Now MCA Motor Club of America offers cheap roadside assistance plans which include  unlimited towing, minor repairs, battery charge, lockout service, fixing flats and many other additional features for a nominal monthly fee to drivers in US and Canada.<\/p>\n

Tow trucks can charge a “hook up fee” of about $100.00 and at least another $3.50 a mile to tow the vehicle back home or to your local repair shop. That’s $275.00 out of pocket even before the repair estimate. Towing fees can be even higher if you are further from home.<\/p>\n

With a MCA Motor Club of America membership of a few cents a day all these charges would be covered.<\/p>\n

Updated service plans include everything from helping post bonds on traffic related matters, legal assistance with a ticket and even Emergency Room cash back from all accidents, attorney fees, travel services and pharmacy discounts.<\/p>\n

In 1992, MCA, became one of but a few licensed and qualified motor clubs to service drivers in all fifty States, and Canada.<\/p>\n

Not all roadside assistance plans are created equal. When considering a plan or making a switch MCA Motor Club of America should be on the short list.<\/p>\n
