Slated for US distribution, TriCoast Worldwide has brought zombie-lovers and horror-fans the best “new wave of zombie movies” with representation of Saez<\/em>’s ‘ANGELS VS. ZOMBIES’, a post-apocalyptic film about the hastening the end of days and re-telling of the New Testament, with the film’s unique twist of Satan’s army rising from the dead. Beginning with Rome’s collapse, ‘ANGELS VS. ZOMBIES’ follows the only survivors – six mysterious and loyal cardinals and the surviving Pope – to journey from the destructed city to France, where they are revealed to be archangels sent from God. Set in 2017, the film follows Paul Dose (Vincent Andres<\/em>), a violent and dangerous criminal who is arrested by two French police officers, David Matéry (Philippe Coste<\/em>) and Sarah Bayram (Elissa Houles<\/em>), eventually landing them in a hospital, where literally – all hell breaks loose.<\/p>\n

The patients, doctors and even Sarah turn into evil-raging, violent-like zombies, attacking those inside the hospital. David pairs up with an archangel, Victoria (Sonia Perez<\/em>), a Muslim warrior from Cairo, Mustapha (Brice Lemaire<\/em>) and the martyr pope men, including Father Enselme (Michel Sidobre<\/em>), to stop the evil propagation of the mysterious “dark patch” from spreading outside the hospital’s walls. Through brain imaging glasses, they can detect the “dark patch” – a kind of dark spot, located on the frontal lobe and detectable in the brains of the greatest criminals and all individuals prompt to extreme violence. Will they be able to stop the deathly zombiism contagious spread before it’s too late?<\/p>\n

The film’s context borders on redefining a genre, as it “presents a distinctive quality with its apocalyptic and theological connotations. In place of carnivorous undead creatures are demonic entities […] It was interesting to see another direction in the infection genre concept,” noted Artuz<\/em>. Despite it’s small-budget production, Saez<\/em>’s ‘ANGELS VS. ZOMBIES’ cinematography and quality is impressive and notable and even “heightens” the film. From the lighting to the camera work, Saez<\/em> not only avoids endangering “his narrative on account of restricted funds […but also,] His creative decision separates artists from amateurs,” observed Artuz<\/em>, but also provides a level of professionalism the audience will appreciate.<\/p>\n

‘ANGELS VS. ZOMBIES’ <\/em>has solid entertainment quality, an interesting plot, and “compared to indie zombie films, I found the make-up effects to be above average,” enjoyed Artuz<\/em>, adding, “What audiences will encounter in Angels Versus Zombies<\/em> are entities that are sinister.
