Everyone deals with the loss of a family member in their own way. Terry Keller Carpenter, a retired art educator, uses art to give others hope and help them deal with their grief. The Texas high school art instructor for twenty-eight years incorporates cut paper designs in Look for Me (Redemption Press, May 2018) to remind the grieving to look for signs from above.

Inspired by the death of her own father, and the feathers that she often finds that remind her of him, Carpenter has incorporated a feather on each page as a symbol of love and support sent from loved ones. She also gathered visual inspiration from the blue-wave beaches of Rockport, Texas where she and her family have visited for over forty years.

Carpenter, a resident of Georgetown, Texas says, “Being left behind can be very frightening to people. This book gives them hope that they are not forgotten. It is a tender reminder of the memories that are so important to hold close. Remembering the good times, laughs, smells, sounds, and the love is worth everything.”
