Beatdom Books, the publishing house with a 10-year track record of publishing books on the Beat Generation, is pleased to announce the release of its two latest titles, Mickey Harper’s Off The Road and Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Rob Johnson’s Did Beatniks Kill John F. Kennedy?

In Off The Road and Over the Cuckoo’s Nest: A Literary History of the American Counterculture, Mr. Harper covers a 30-year period in American history, starting from the end of World War II, and reaching up to the 1970s, in exploration of the cultural impact of the Beat Generation’s revolutionary approach in literature. This “fun-yet-scholarly chapbook”, as described by Beatdom Books, traces the evolution of the American counterculture, beginning with Beat icon’s Jack Kerouac’s work, and extending to Hunter S. Thompson’s pioneering journalistic style – without failing to make mention of other landmarks in Beat literature, too.

Beatdom Books’ second release, Did Beatniks Kill John F. Kennedy?, which, coincidentally, comes in the heels of the declassification of CIA files related to the JFK assassination, offers a fresh take on the event, through the lens of a Beatnik-era musician – the book’s protagonist, George “Bongo Joe” Coleman. “This precise gem of a book will leave you laughing even as you learn new secrets about JFK’s final hours”, said Brian Allen Carr, author of Sip and Motherfucking Sharks, noting that “this sideways glance at one of our most puzzling murders is the most fitting book to read in these most bizarre days.”

Both Mr. Harper’s Off The Road and Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, as well as Dr. Johnson’s Did Beatniks Kill JFK, can be pre-ordered through the Beatdom Books website.

Off The Road and Over the Cuckoo’s Nest: A Literary History of the American Counterculture is already available on Amazon.com, in paperback, while Beatdom Books full book catalogue can be viewed, and purchased, through the publishing house’s Amazon page.

To learn more about Beatdom Books, please visit: www.books.beatdom.com

Media Contact
