New Seacoast Press published cyberpunk novel earns high praise

Seacoast Press, an imprint of Mindstir Media LLC, has published a new book by J. Webb Garrett entitled Neon Calico. The book centers on Calico, a young, struggling cyborg Troubleshooter as she makes her way in the shadowy underbelly of the Chicago Metropolis. Having spent years running from a past that she can never escape, Calico finds a chance to put it all behind her when her half-brother shows up from Hong Kong asking her to steal a data-file from their father’s company. The file – Project: Stray, her father’s final solution.

The novel has already earned praise from reviewers. One early review on Amazon stated: “Neon Calico held my attention and I devoured it over the course of a couple days. Calico is a flawed hero, and I really like seeing that. She’s also bisexual, never describes herself like an object instead of a person, has a very stable platonic relationship with her roommate, and is entirely her own person throughout, which is also very refreshing. I recommend this book to anyone who loves cyerpunk that focuses more on the gritty corporate espionage aspects of what the genre can do.”

Neon Calico is available from Seacoast Press/Mindstir Media at Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com and other fine retailers worldwide for $15.99. Wholesale orders can be placed through Ingram, Baker & Taylor.
