New Jersey Restaurant Pure Pita to Donate Online Proceeds to Memorial Sloan Kettering

The Mediterranean food spot will feature a new monthly charity so diners can give back to their local communities

HOBOKEN, NJ – May 12, 2017 – Mediterranean restaurant Pure Pita proudly announced today that it’s offering five percent of its proceeds from online orders to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Diners who want to give back this month are encouraged to visit Pure Pita’s website and order directly; instead of using a third-party service.

Nick Andelora, the owner of Pure Pita, explains why the eatery came up with this generous incentive. “We wanted to do something different to make a positive impact and make a difference in people’s lives,” he said. “When a customer orders online at purepita.com, we will be donating a percentage of their order to charity.”

Diners can choose from Pure Pita’s many fresh, delicious, Mediterranean offerings and check out when finished.  Then, a portion of their order cost will go directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering for the month of May.

The New York-based cancer treatment center has been a beloved choice since 1884. From children to adults, Memorial Sloan Kettering offers hope for cancer patients. The organization is always open to donations to further its training and education, clinical trials, and research efforts.

Those who have eaten at Pure Pita before know that it’s within the restaurant’s nature to give back to its New Jersey community and beyond. Whether in Montclair, Hoboken, Morristown, or cruising around the surrounding areas in the Pure Pita food truck, the employees of this restaurant feel strongly about many causes.

Andelora says the biggest difference between Pure Pita’s program and other donation programs is that customers don’t have to make an effort to give. “We are not asking customers for donations — a percentage of their order will be automatically donated. Giving back a portion of our proceeds is just one small way to give back,” he added.

Pure Pita diners who are feeling especially giving will have other opportunities to donate in future months. The restaurant plans on rolling out a monthly donations program where they select the charity. The same process will apply in June and the following months: just visit purepita.com to order a meal for lunch or dinner and automatically, five percent of the order cost goes towards the monthly charity.

At the end of May, Pure Pita plans to share the amount of money its customers raised on its Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
