Marc van Bulck, a native of Sumter, South Carolina, is delighted to announce the release of his new novella, Gray Man, on Tuesday, May 17th. The forthcoming book is the author’s debut published work of fiction and perfectly transforms one of South Carolina’s favorite ghost stories into a 21st-century tale of love, loss, and friendship.
Described as a love letter to the scenic town of Pawleys Island, the poignant novella presents a fast-paced plot, filled with interestingly complex characters, whose lives intertwine in an exciting tale of strange encounters and the unearthing of traumatic memories.
The plot follows twenty-four-year-old Liam whose life begins to unravel as Hurricane Caleb slams into the small town of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Reeling from an unexpected tragedy, Liam spends most of his time wandering the coast like an invisible man, largely unnoticed, save for his friend, Aubrey, and her mother who lives with dialysis. The approaching storm ushers in eerie encounters and strange dreams that awaken old traumatic memories for each of them, in a Low Country haunted by a few old ghosts of its own.

A graduate of Emerson College and Columbia Theological Seminary, Van Bulck has also been an actor, writer, director, keynote speaker, and podcaster.
