ALYAMAC + PERDECI’S HISTORICAL DRAMA, ‘LOST BIRDS’, TELLS THE STORY OF ULTIMATE TRAGEDY THROUGH THE INNOCENT EYES OF CHILDREN

“LOST BIRDS // TRICOAST ENTERTAINMENT”
The emotional yet heartwarming historical film, ‘LOST BIRDS’, depicts one of world history’s biggest tragedies, the 1915 Armenian tragedy, through the innocent eyes of children – screening in Glendale, CA to honor Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day (April 24th).

Los Angeles, CA (March 8, 2018) – Adult historical dramas from the perspective of children provide moviegoers and audiences worldwide with the chance to re-live the world’s most tragic incidents through the innocent eyes of the often-overlooked heroes – children themselves.

The re-telling of war stories has been a popular genre for centuries, citing popular examples of film depictions including Novelist Khaled Hosseini and Director Marc Forster’s ‘The Kite Runner’ (2017) and Roberto Benigni’s ‘Life is Beautiful’ (1997). But, the most unique and refreshing of its genre are ones with narratives told through the authentic and innocent perspective of children who face young adversities as they battle the most documented tragedy and war in worldwide history.

To honor children, who are often everyday heroes, TriCoast Entertainment and Kara Kedi Films invites all to the Glendale, CA screening of the three-time winning ‘LOST BIRDS’ – a historical fairytale following the tragedy of the 1915 Armenian tragedy through eyes of brother and sister, Bedo and Maryam, who were left behind during the mass deportations of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire of 1915.

‘LOST BIRDS’ will have its exclusive screening in Glendale, CAto honor Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day on April 24th, 2018.

Sharing both directing and writing credits, first-time emerging filmmakers, Ela Alyamac (‘Fairy Dust’) and Aren Perdeci’s five-in-the-year making historical drama, ‘LOST BIRDS’, is the first Turkish production to display the 1915 Armenian tragedy ever on the big screen.

Alyamac said they’d tried to make a film that “expressed the tragedy of the Armenian exile but tell it through the eyes of innocent children. They don’t know what happened but they know they can’t find their mother. But it’s more a search for a life that’s gone,” reported The Hollywood Reporter’s Bill Higgins.

Higgins added that Perdeci’s inspiration behind ‘LOST BIRDS’ was “so people would know what was lost and tell it in a way that also the Turkish could relate to.”

‘LOST BIRDS’ is a dramatic film built within a fairytale narrative that brings to light the well-known 1915 Armenian tragedy told through the eyes of innocent children, guaranteeing to leave the audience with new perspectives on a long-lived international conflict.

With stunning visuals, beautiful music and powerful performances by the young and several first-time actors, ‘LOST BIRDS’ stars Heros Agopyan as ‘Bedo’ and Dila Uluca as ‘Maryam’. Alongside is Sarkis Acemyan as ‘Grandpa Yetvart’, Arto Arsenyan as ‘Father Mesrop’, and Takuhi Bahar as ‘Kinar’.
