Zero Electricity Air Conditioner, zeAC Launches Crowdfunding Campaign on Indiegogo

A new, zero electricity, natural air-conditioner is aiming to raise fund for through crowdfunding on Indiegogo.

Indiegogo, the popular crowdfunding site has posted a unique project. The patent-pending Zero Electric Air-conditioned (zeAC) is attempting to raise a flexible financial goal of $250,000 for funding the project which has the potential to revolutionize the conventional and established concepts of air-conditioning.

“We have researched and created a green air conditioning solution that can cool rooms without using electricity,” says Anaele Iroh, the person who conceptualized the idea. “The device works by absorbing vapor from the air and brings down temperature by absorption of heat. The crowdfunding campaign for zeAC is currently live on Indiegogo.”

The simple and user-friendly zeAC is easy to operate. It involves refilling the tank with water every morning. The system helps create a micro-climate of stable humidity and cool comfort, right through the day and night. The unique zeAC is ideal for use in room admeasuring 100 square feet.

The main component is a cylinder with micro-porous surfaces that can help control the climate. Water evaporates from these surfaces and helps cool down the air inside the room. The added benefit is that the plants absorb the harmful CO2 in the room and release fresh oxygen thus making the atmosphere inside the room healthy and enjoyable.

According to the team associated with developing this unique air conditioner, during the testing process of zeAC in Lagos, the device cooled down room temperature to around 27 degrees Celsius even as the temperature outside was around 35 degrees. With zeAC, users are unlikely to experience any temperature swinging or thermal discomfort.

The device has a heating element that keeps adding heat in small amount to ensure that the air con cylinder maintains a temperature of 36 degrees. This can help bring room temperature to a steady 24 degrees. In tests conducted in winter climate of -1 degree Celsius, the humidity was around 65 per cent according to the developers of zeAC.

The zeAC can be used with a large variety of plants including Peace Lily, Money Plant, Bamboo Palm and Mother-in-law’s tongue. It also works well with popular trees like Peepal Tree, Rama Tulsi, Christmas Cactus, Aloe Vera, Snake Plant, Neem Tree, and Areca Palm.

According to the team of developers of the project, zeAC is 100 times more energy efficient, healthy and sustainable than conventional air conditioners. It can be used as an alternative to regular AC units and can be easily integrated with the décor and interiors of any room due to its small size and sleek appearance. The unit can enhance the appearance of any home or office when placed in a flower put accompanied by attractive and colorful flowers.

The crowdfunding campaign for zeAC is currently running at full swing on Indiegogo and has received a fair support so far.
