The film Analogic explores the world of a college student with interpersonal problems paired with an autism spectrum disorder, sometimes called Asperger’s syndrome.

Boston, MA – Writer and director Eric Bergquist’s film Analogic beautifully tells the story of the challenges of a college student struggling with interpersonal skills related to having an autism spectrum disorder, or Asperger’s syndrome.

“Analogic is the story of Jacob Harold, a college student struggling socially, who finds solace in solving Rubik’s Cubes. When he meets the girl of his dreams, suddenly not only do his emotions come to embody the same color range of a Rubik’s Cube, but his reality does as well,” explained Bergquist.

An autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that begins early in childhood and lasts throughout a person’s life. It includes what’s known as Asperger’s syndrome and pervasive developmental disorders. ASD includes a wide range, or spectrum of symptoms, skills, and levels of disability. People with ASD often have characteristics such as social problems that include difficulty communicating and interacting with others, according to the National Institute for Health.

Bergquist, currently receiving traction for his Netflix pitch The Chronic Adventure Story, earned a degree in communications media at Fitchburg State University, with a minor in psychological science. He has been a standing member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, and was a proponent in the first high school chapter of the organization in the country, followed by the first ever chapter at Fitchburg State.

He plans to submit Analogic to the Amazon online streaming service where he hopes it will be accessible to the widest possible audience.

“Once Analogic is available to stream on Amazon, my hopes are that many people will be able to gain an awareness and better understanding of people who have a disability of one kind or another, not just autism. People with many different disabilities struggle to live, study, work, and love in a world that does not always understand them or treat them fairly,” said Bergquist.

Bergquist’s latest endeavor, The Chronic Adventure Story pilot aimed for Netflix, plans to begin production in the fall with many of the same returning cast and crew from Analogic.
