New York, New York-Lydia Wang is a specialist of music education, composer, arranger, and First Violinist. Her orchestral and composition work entitled, “The Lunine String Quartet,” was the world premier at preeminent NGO-Led Afternoon Event, celebrating 70 years of the United Nations, sponsored by United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA- and its Council of Organizations and Southern NY State Division), World Council of Peoples for the United Nations (WCPUN). Wang organized and led her Orchestra to satisfactory performance.
During her extraordinary career as a violinist, composer, and arranger, she has written and arranged music for studio orchestra, jazz strings, and quartets as well as full orchestra.Wang has worked closely with the String Lab Quartet, as well as with violinists Yun leading them both to success after each performance. She worked on arranging and orchestration with noted composer and arranger A.R. Rahman, a Grammy award winning musician, and has played a lead role in the notable event in the dedication of the prominent players, at the A.R. Rahman Meets Berklee, Festival of Lights, arranging and adding strings to the original piece of music. Again leading an astonishing performance for this must see event.
Currently, Wang is set to work as an arranger, composer, violinist, and teacher of young children throughout New York, working with well know productions and organizations, with their success laying her hands. .She will present classes for string students and teachers on playing jazz and improvising. Taking an active role in promoting string jazz, Wang is to give classes at some of the most renowned music halls in New York, as well as for public school teachers and students.
Her Prominent past lead performances include A.R. Rahman Meets Berklee, Festival of Lights, First Violinist and arranger as part of “Lumine String Quartet” for United Nations NGO event, The Strings Lab, First Violinist and Arranger for “Midsummer Taiwanese concert,” Taipeo Economic and Culture Office, “Lucy and Gray Learning Chinese “ CD Production, Preschool of America, New York, NY, Solo violinist, Chicago the musical, at Berklee Performance Center, Yun and The New Definition. Also, she has performed at notable establishments including Berklee Performance Center, Jordan Hall, Lily Pad, Ryles Jazz Club, Symphony Hall, and Rockwood Music Hall.
Her original music encompasses a wide variety of styles and instrument combinations, including jazz strings, full orchestra, string orchestra, wind ensemble, woodwind quintets and instrumental solos. Her compositions have been performed by orchestras and instrumental groups across the United States and abroad.
