\”Way of The Woman\” Makes its Way Up Billboard\’s Traditional Jazz Chart Debuting at #5

Los Angeles, CA – Jan Daley’s Smooth Jazz album Way Of The Woman has hit the Top 5on two Billboard Album charts as follows:

– “Hot Shot Debut” in #5 position on the Billboard Jazz album chart
– Entered Billboard’s Traditional Jazz Album chart at #6

Jan Daley’s latest full album and signature title track Way Of The Woman have debuted immediately skyrocketing to the top tier echelon of Billboards  “Hot Shot Debut,”then the second week raced passed Norah Jones, the iconic Thelonious Monk, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. to #2 on the Traditional Jazz Album charts and #3 on Jazz charts, which today has shot up again to #2. On the Traditional Jazz chart Daley’s Way Of The Woman shares one of the top five slots withsuch genre notables and jazz stalwarts as Diana Krall, This is quite an accomplishment and a well deserved one at that; for an independent artist like Daley whose career has spanned over 5 decades.

The triple threat singer, actress and songwriter started off as the “singing canary” in her early twenties on Bob Hope’s USO Tour and has performed with countless huge names in both the acting and singing world. Additionally, she also wore the crown as Miss California (yes, it was “Miss” back then!) while attending college.  However, music has remained her true passion. Greatness can be defined in many ways but Jan Daley defines it through the mastery of her dynamically eloquent vocal range. Jan delivers a songwriter’s lyrics in crisp, clear tones while moving along the scales with the utmost of ease and sincerity. She evokes a heartfelt expression of the soul from a life lived and lessons learned both old and new , which makes her so appealing to all audiences of contemporary jazz.

With Way Of The Woman Daley recalls,“Both my co-writer (Cathy Diane) & I were going through some ‘Man’ problems and we were talking about it, as Girls will do.  Our first draft, of the song, we wrote the lyric ‘The Way of a Woman in the Days of her Man’, because we were experiencing the day-to-day process and how we, as women, were handling it.   But then we realized it was really about the beginnings of ‘losing a Man’ which we both did, eventually.

The Way Of The Woman album features 10 other glorious tracks and is  Co-produced by legendary Motown producer Michael B. Sutton, featuring instrumental performances by Hiroshi Upshur on keys and bass synth, James Gadson on drums, with Josh Sklair and Gregory Moore on guitar, and Dionyza Sutton on backing vocals.

The single and album are now available on Amazon Music and all other Digital outlets.
