Dr. Watson III attended the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated in 1982. He completed his residency at Saint Louis University and served his cardiology fellowship atHahnemann University in Philadelphia. Dr. Watson III is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular disease, and Interventional cardiology, and maintains professional memberships with the American Medical Association, the Heart Failure Society of America, and the American Society of Echocardiography. In addition, he earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Over the years, Dr. Watson III was honored with several awards, including a Golden Apple Teaching Award and a Partners in Excellence Award from Abington Memorial Hospital. Moreover, he was voted among America’s Top Physicians by the Consumers’ Research Council of America in 2003 and was named Man of the Year by the American Biographical Institute in 2005. In 2007 he was instrumental in the development of the Comprehensive Heart Failure program at Abington which has led to improvement in the disease state management of this condition. He is involved with many clinical trials involving interventional cardiology and heart failure. Dr. Watson III feels that his success is attributed to his family, excellent mentors, his internal drive and commitment, and putting his patients and family first in his career. He dedicates his spare time to playing golf and traveling.
