For rising filmmakers being able to not only have their work seen, but also to be paid for their work is usually a very high priority. The Utah Film Awards, long a favorite for filmmakers to show their short films, series and commercials, has recently announced they have made some changes that are sure to leave people enthusiastic about entering the event. Starting this year, the Utah Film Awards will now be partnered with both distributors and sales agents to screen every submission to the award show first hand. This can act as a gateway to selling projects quickly, some even before the contest begins.
“We hear all the time that filmmakers submit to film festivals to generate enough buzz to get the attention of distribution companies,” commented Warren Workman, produce of the Utah Film Awards. “At the Utah Film Awards, the distributors are the judges. You get their attention just by entering.”
According to the company, the deadline for submissions to the next contest is January 31, 2016. The awards themselves will be held on March 12, 2016. Anticipation surrounding the event is very high.

Some of the distributors who have partnered with the awards, include Shorts International, VMI Worlwide, Tom Cat Films, Covenant Communications, Wonderphil Entertainment, Excel, Raven Banner and many more.
Feedback from past attendees have been very positive.
Dave Walker, from California, recently said, “The Utah Film Awards is the best place to network. I landed several auditions while meeting attendees in the lobby!”
