The new short film, “Parker & Angel”, written and directed by Ty Whittington, produced by Seana Goodson and Ty Whittington and executive produced by Ban Mechael and Jill Allen aptly sheds light on the epidemics of Sexual Assault and drug abuse among woman in the Music Industry. It tells of a heartbreaking story of a homeless woman, Parker, played by Jill Allen, who was once an aspiring singer. Her struggle to become a famous singer led her to the streets due to abuse from men in the industry.
Angel, played by Brooke Besikof, was walking home from school rehearsing for try outs to land the lead in her school choir when she met Parker, who was living under an overpass on the streets, comforted only by her dog, Kimble, and cigarette buds. Parker reluctantly agrees to give Angel voice lessons.
There is a severe scarcity of gender representation in the film and television industry; and one that Ty Whittington wants to help change. This film dominated by not only woman behind the scenes but leading woman in front of the camera is one Ty Whittington takes pride in and wishes to continue.
