Ladson, SC – July 25, 2016 – It has been announced that The Thorn Bearer by Pepper Basham and Angelhood by A.C. Cattapan, both published by Vinspire Publishing, have been listed as finalists in the 2016 American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Carol Awards. This prestigious recognition is a major achievement for both Basham and Cattapan, as the ACFW is the frontrunner in advancing Christian Fiction by inspiring and training writers to work with God in the creative process, and by teaching them about the publishing industry.
Both novels are Basham and Cattapan’s debut releases. In, Basham’s The Thorn Bearer, theprotagonist Ashleigh embarks on a journey aboard the ill-fated Lusitania, where she must choose between the forgiveness of her past, life in the present, and a Saviour who can rescue her from them all. In Cattapan’s Angelhood, seventeen-year-old Nanette takes her own life after a series of tragic and unfortunate events. However, the afterlife is not what she expected.
Basham and Cattapan’s recognition by the ACFW Carol Awards follows some prestigious accolades already given to The Thorn Bearer and Angelhood. The Thorn Bearer won the Bronze medal in the Christian Fiction category of the Reader’s Favorites International Book Award Contest,while Angelhood won a Gold Medal in the Religion/Spirituality category of the Moonbeam Awards. Both novels were finalists in the 2015 Grace Awards and have been long-listed for the INSPY Book Awards.
Becoming finalists in the Carol Awards has confirmed Pepper Basham and A.C. Cattapan status as success stories of Vinspire Publishing.
