On August 12th, 2017, Tropical Storm Harvey is named. August 19th, it is downgraded to a tropical depression and 6 hours later further downgraded to a tropical wave. By August 23rd, Harvey regenerated into a tropical depression 535 miles southeast of Port O’Connor, Texas. Over the next two days, Harvey upgraded to become a Category 4 hurricane and made landfall between two Texas coastal ports, Port Aransas and Port O’Connor. Over Saturday and Sunday, more than 40 inches of rain had fallen. On August 29th, 2017, Tropical Storm Irma was forecasted to travel along the Eastern Coastal States delivering an estimated 10 inches of rain. FEMA Administrator, Brock Long, said “More than 30,000 people would need shelter”. Early estimates are about several billion dollars in damages from Tropical Storm Harvey. Now, Tropical Storm IRMA has been upgraded to a possible Category 5 Hurricane. The United States of America are in an unprecedented state of crisis.
