Topper Industrial Explains Why North American Industry Needs FTF Initiatives

According to Jason Bullard, Topper Industrial Sales Engineer, Fork Truck Free (FTF) Initiatives are being implemented at a rapid rate throughout North America. Bullard explained that FTF provides a higher efficiency environment, eliminated waste while improving material flow.

By reducing non-value added steps FTF ensure the right amount of product is moved to ensure Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery.  This helps to keep inventory levels low and aisles remain free from excess product.

The adoption of FTF is catching on quickly because it drives down costs.  There are fewer fork truck operator labor wages, medical costs, and training expenses.  Other expenditures are eliminated throughout the facility, including equipment and unsaleable product due to damage from fork trucks.

The staff of FTF industrial plants appreciate that there is less complexity on the floor in line side assembly and inventory areas and value that automation ensures consistent delivery because it feeds parts for production.

Ultimately the greatest benefit of the FTF environment is a safer work environment, replacing dangerous fork trucks with carts.
