THIS WEEK\’S HIRING AMERICA TELEVISION PROGRAM SHOWCASES THOUSANDS OF IMMEDIATE JOB OPENINGS FOR VETERANS

One of America’s Top Retailors Announces The Spring Motherlode Of Hiring!

New York, NY – Feb. 11th, 2016 – Eighty thousand jobs — a variety of them — this spring. And many of those will be made available to America’s Veterans preparing for careers in civilian life!!!!

This great opportunity will be covered this coming weekend when the nationally syndicated television show “Hiring America” — a unique program designed  to help U.S. Vets leaving the military prepare for new careers — airs an in-depth interview with Eric Schelling, Head of talent acquisition for The Home Depot.

The show is syndicated and seen on more than 190 television stations across the nation.

“Every one of our stores, every distribution center, in every state and town will be looking to fill a variety of positions for our spring rush,”  said Schelling who appears on the show. “And we truly believe and hope that a great many of these  jobs will be filled by American veterans.”

He noted that The Home Depot celebrates veterans and all its employees. “It’s in our corporate DNA,” he related. “Giving back to the community, making them feel like family… and mentoring to help accelerate careers is an integral part of the culture.”

To apply and find out more, all a vet has to do is watch this weekend’s Hiring America or visit the HomeDepot.com website, click on the “careers” icon — and fill out the application.

“Military people are weaned in hard work,” observed Tony Lemma, a regional vice president of The Home Depot who is a former Navy veteran now responsible for 70+ stores. “I started as a sales associate in 1995, realized that much of my military training was transferable to retailing — and quickly moved up the ladder.”

“It’s so fulfilling for us at Hiring America to be able to offer insight and job opportunities,”  stated Bill Deutch, executive producer and creator of the program.

”One of our key messages to military personnel leaving for civilian life is… don’t sell yourself short.  You have transferable skills that are invaluable in business.”

About Hiring America

Hiring America is the first employment TV program for transitioning veterans and their families. Our mission is to help veterans and members of the Armed Forces connect with companies that have jobs available and organizations that support the military community.

Our goal on each episode is for the viewer to have the ability to access companies and organizations that are actively hiring veterans today. For industries that are regionally based such as utilities, we give viewers the ability to learn about how to connect to these industries in their own community.

Hiring America is your advocate in the world of veteran employment.
