Written and directed by Johnny Royal, “33 & BEYOND: THE ROYAL ART OF FREEMASONRY” explores the world’s largest and oldest fraternity, as almost everyone had a father, grandfather, or uncle who was a Mason.

As the first film to fully examine the entire American Masonic structure, “33 & BEYOND: THE ROYAL ART OF FREEMASONRY is traveling across the US from lodge to lodge, bringing the Mason Brotherhood closer together, discussing the overall purpose and significance of the Masonic rituals, as well as the unique culture and future of the Masonic fraternity.

Royal’s documentary describes how Freemasonry began back in the 1300s with the Knights Templar and describes each degree of Freemasonry; from Entered Apprentice through Master Mason, York Rite, Knights Templar, Scottish Rite up to the 33rd Degree. By providing real behind-the-scene perspectives and moving interviews from today’s well-known Freemasons across the U.S., they share their personal experiences within the fraternity, their personal path to enlightenment, and their narration of the overarching narrative of their “hero’s quest”.
