The Indiana Dental Association Ethics Journal Offers Self-Study Course For Mandatory Continuing Education In Ethics And Jurisprudence

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – As per Indiana law, anyone currently holding, or wishing to obtain, a license to practice as a dentist or dental hygienist in the state must obtain two hours of continuing education on ethics and jurisprudence. Understanding the need for a complete self-study guide, which would help professionals working in the field of dental health to complete their ethics and jurisprudence requirement at their own pace, the Indiana Dental Association (IDA) has put the focus of the Fall issue of its Ethics Journal on ethics and Indiana jurisprudence. The release of the Ethics Journal comes ahead of the March, 2018 license renewal deadline, by which all licensed dentists and dental hygienists must have completed their 2-hour Ethics Certification (Ethics CE).

In addition to covering all the appropriate knowledge Indiana dental health professionals must acquire in order to earn their two hours of Ethics CE, the Fall issue of the Indiana Dental Association Ethics Journal also includes a self-administered quiz, with which professionals can assess their level of competency on ethics and Indiana jurisprudence.

“The Indiana Dental Association Ethics Journal provides a quick and convenient way for Indiana dentists and dental hygienists to earn their mandatory ethics and jurisprudence continuing education,” says Karen Scharf, IDA Director of Communications. “This self-study resource allows dentists and hygienists to work on their own time and at their own pace.”

All dentists and dental hygienists are encouraged to take action and place a pre-order in a timely manner, so as to reserve their very own copy of the Ethics Journal. The IDA intimated that copies of the Journal for hygienists and non-IDA member dentists will be limited.

Those that choose to complete the self-study quiz and seek to obtain a certificate of CE completion can do so upon payment of a $25 processing fee to the IDA. Certificate order forms will be found within Journal copies.
