Science-themed games developer Genius Games recently announced the launch of their first science books series: My First Science Textbook for toddlers and young children, the team behind the series has created the books to be similar to textbooks, but way more fun for kids. Highly educational, highly memorable and funny. John Coveyou leading the Genius Games team launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to garner support for his project. The purpose of the crowdfunding campaign is to raise funds to spark their project to live and cover production cost, the crowdfunding campaign achieved its funding goal within the 7 hours mark and doubled the goal on the first day.
Lead by John’s vision, the creative team have designed the graphics and the story to appeal to the imaginative and curious minds of children. The 3 book series teaches kids science concepts acted out by Adorable characters Pete the Proton and Ned the Neutron; and Ellie is our sparky little electron who joins the Atom team in the 2nd book of the series. John’s two-year-old daughter helped the team create a series that was fun, captivating and educational for children of very young ages, about science.
The simplicity of the story, combined with the creative and colorful pictures, has made the children’s books series Kickstarter a hit among the online crowd and has also drawn much support and praise from parents and reviewers alike. The team has also tried to incorporate additional workbook pages that will allow learners to exercise and test out their knowledge, which would keep readers of all ages captivated. The crowdfunding project offers various pledge options to suit different preferences. A variety of different rewards and perks are being offered to prize the generosity of those who support the campaign and the project through their monetary contributions. The book series project continues to draw support as the crowdfunging campaign draws to a close.

Genius Games is a game design company that strives to publish high-quality table-top games that are both entertaining and educational. Traditionally, games are meant only for entertainment and are therefore not normally played inside a school. The school is meant to educate, but traditionally it hasn’t been very fun. Our hope is to design games that are a blast to play, but simultaneously demystify intimidating concepts in the sciences and engage the players in a lifelong process of inquiry.
