SID is a Wi-Fi monitoring system that allows users to monitor a house, hotel room or any other location remotely from a cell phone. SID smart sensors provide peace of mind and money savings over expensive security companies and allow property owners to monitor any aspect of their homes or businesses 24 hours a day. Travelers can monitor their possessions in a hotel room or keep an eye on their homes no matter where they are, and business people can monitor their briefcases or equipment from any location. Now, the creator of this unique product has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise production funds.
SID, which stands for Smart IoT Device, is a long-range wireless device with two processors. It is an inexpensive and versatile alternative to expensive monitoring services. Packed with smart sensors, SID can be used anywhere the user has an Internet connection. It is easy to set up, with no technical knowledge required to install it and no programming necessary. The entire system can be operated from any cell phone, tablet or PC.
SID allows users to be informed if a light has been left on, if the dryer is running, if there is water on the floor of a room, if the temperature in a fridge or wine cellar is outside a range, if a door or window is opened or if vibration has been detected. With SID+motion, users can learn if a person or animal enters a room, and with SID+sonic, sensors allow the use of sonic technology to alert the user of everything from mail deliveries to problems with a pet or parent. Future external sensors in development will monitor humidity, a second door or window or soil moisture.
The Kickstarter campaign, located on the web at http://tinyurl.com/sidKIC, features pledge levels from $39 to $399, with perk including free SID units and other prizes.
